NI Kore: NO Kore without Kore

This is really bad: i just learned that you will have to connect NI Kore allways to your DAW in order to playback a song that used Kore. That means: NI Kore hardware is somekind of a dongle. so, if you travel with your laptop you have to take your Kore Dongle with you. No Kore, no playback of songs. Gee ... that sucks.

  • Yeah, I was seriously considering it until I found that out...I emailed NI and asked them if this was definitely the case, and also if they had any plans to release a mini-dongle (i.e. a flash-drive or smaller sized USB dongle). The response:

    "Dear Glenn,

so far you definitely need the KORE controller plugged in to run KORE successfully on your computer. There is no other information I can give you.

    Best regards,

    Stefan Mueller"

Oh well. Perhaps they'll recognize the need to fix this, especially with so many people using laptops today.

  • Whaat?! I thought this Kore thing was a great idea and for a split second I even considered buying Komplete 3 + Kore, even though it's quite expensive for me. But not being able to go on a recording gig with only a laptop is incredibly stupid. I'll definitely not buy Kore as it is.

    Let's see how this evolves.
